Hurtigruten Museum

MS Finnmarken from 1956 proudly stands as a monument to Norway’s coastal history in the center of Stokmarknes, the birthplace of the Hurtigruten. The ship is getting its own iconic building and we are excited to welcome you at its opening in the summer 2021. We would like to invite you on a new and colourful journey into the Hurtigruten’s history.

On this journey you will encounter the fascinating stories and lives of seamen, founders and passengers. In the lounges of DS Finmarken from 1912 and on MS Finnmarken you will experience the atmosphere of different eras. The importance of the Hurtigruten for the Norwegian coast is highlighted through modern exhibitions, participation and knowledgeable hosts.

Visit the bridge, the galley, the engine room, old cabins, and more. Take a tour out onto the deck, where a Ford 17M from 1971 is travelling. Enjoy the food and drink in the dining room from 1956, while the children play in the next door lounge with toys from different decades.

The Hurtigruten Museum offers unforgettable experiences for both adults and children, as well as for those with and without prior knowledge of the Hurtigruten. A visit to Lofoten, Vesterålen and Northern Norway would not be complete without a day at the Hurtigruten Museum.
