Norwegian Fishing Village Museum

At Å on the E 10, the end station of the King’s Road, you will find the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, one of the best preserved and complete old fishing villages in Northern Norway. Discover our authentic buildings: boathouse, cod liver oil factory, cottage, smithy, post office, fisherman’s cabin and bakery from the 1800s. You can get to know the hard and picturesque life in a fishing village during the Lofoten fishery and all year round. You will be guided through the everyday lives of the traveling fisherman, the local families and the squire, who ruled the fishing village from around 1840 to 1960.
