Risøyhamn Museum is a small open-air museum in Risøyhamn, on the south side of Andøya. The museum gives an insight into local history and is a cozy place in beautiful nature. The museum has 5 historic buildings: Børvågstua, Lensmannsgården, Nilsengården, the boathouse and the barn.

In the boathouse stands the five-oared boat “Haakon”, built in Helgeland in 1880. “Haakon” is a full 14 meters long and an impressive sight, and you can learn about the Risøyrenna.

In Lensmannsgården there is an exhibition called “Operations and expeditions – Andværinger i krig og fred” (opened 8 May 2025). The exhibition provides a good overview of the contributions and stories of people from Andøya in both wartime and peacetime, but also has something for those who like to dive extra deep into history.

The Risøyhamn market is held every year in July, with stalls, food service and an open museum. The market is rich in tradition and popular and both locals and visitors meet here. The area is filled with life and movement; stalls with local products and handicrafts, traditional cuisine. The museum is also open then.

Risøyhamn Museum is part of the Andøy Museum, which is run by Museum Nord.
