Saturday café and lectures

This summer we repeat the success Saturday café at Øksnes museum, in collaboration with various clubs and associations. There will be a café in Alsvåggården with coffee and snacks, storytelling in the museum building, musical performances, and the opportunity to join a guided tour.

Hand-painted playing cards

War sailors // a traveling exhibition

War sailors // a traveling exhibition visits Narvik and Sortland in August and September. We meet eight people who were children and young people when the war turned them into war sailors.

With 119,162 visitors to Lofotr Viking Museum, all visitor records were broken in 2023. The summer season was already very positive, and many tourists came to Borg to visit the museum from all over the world. Although it was expected to exceed the visitor count from 2019, namely 104,614, at the end of the year the number of visitors still far exceeded expectations.
