Hurtigruten Museum

A monument to Norway’s Transport history: Visit the bridge, engine room and cabins on the Finnmarken express route (1956) in its iconic barley. Feel the atmosphere in the lounges from the steamship Finmarken (1912). Activities for children and families. Hurtigruta’s importance is told in modern exhibitions. Food and drinks are served in the dining room anno 1956. Welcome aboard!

Lofoten Museum

Get to know the history of the Lofoten fisheries at one of the best-preserved manor houses in the region, with authentic fishermans cabins, traditional wooden boats and a historic garden.

Seabed Digital English

Andenes Lighthouse

Andenes lighthouse was completed in 1859 and is one of Norway’s tallest lighthouses. If you visit the lighthouse, it is possible to go all the way up to the top to see the amazing views.

The venue at Korsnes is an old communication center located in an idyllic area.

Lofoten coffin

The white gold of the sea is still important. The fisherman must have that little extra, a sixth sense, about the weather and about the nature of the fish.

Skaftnes Farm

The farm consists of a farmhouse, barn, dock and boathouse. The buildings are open to visitors and a skilled guide is available. Learn about fishermen and farmers who lived between the sea and a somewhat barren soil around 1900–1940.

History of Lofoten

Lofoten’s history is a story about fish. The population has harvested resources from the sea all year round, while many have also run small farms. But it is the seasonal fishing for skrei that has had the greatest impact on life here along the coast.

Sortland Museum

The importance of the oceans in the north, the vulnerable marine ecosystem and the consequences of marine litter and pollution as topics. The exhibitions are aimed at children and young people.

Rock art and landscapes

The exhibition tek is produced by the Arctic University Museum of Norway from Noreg, Sweden, Finland and Northwest Russia.
