Cultural Heritage Days 2026

The Cultural Heritage Days 2026 will be held from 5th to 13th of September. Our museums offer several events and activities during this period.

“Cultural heritage in danger” is this year’s theme during the cultural preservation days. The theme opens up for reflections on how we take care of our common cultural heritage, in a time when everything is changing.

Open museums, exhibitions, lectures and family events

Høstvekka take place in Leknes, on Saturday 5th of September, Lofotr Viking Museum will be present with activities for children, baking flatbread on a fire and entertainment!

On Sunday 6th of September, at Narvik Museum, you can see the opening of the exhibition “Did you hear that? – Stories that warn”

On Saturday 12th of September, there will be a familyday at the Hurtigruten Museum, this time you can build your very own jekt!

Ballangen Museum invites you to an open day in collaboration with Ballangen History Society, Saturday 12th of September.

Together with Meieriet Library, Lofotr Viking Museum, Saturday 12th of September, invites you to Super Saturday at the library.

Both Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of September, you can join Lofoten Art Open at Galleri Espolin!

At the Lofoten Museum, you are invited to FamilySunday 13th of September, a cozy and fun day for the whole family.

On Tuesday 22nd of September, Bø Museum invites you to a lecture about Regine Normann’s life and her literature.
